Terms of Service
Last updated: July 28, 2026
These Terms cover both our website and the Piece of Cake service (the app and CakeBot). Piece of Cake is currently in beta (see Section 10). This page is not legal advice.
1. Who We Are and What These Terms Cover
Piece Of Cake is a product and website available at itspieceofcake.com and operated by LEARNING PATHS TECHNOLOGIES LLP, India ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, our application, and CakeBot (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, or otherwise accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Definitions
- Host (or Organizer) — a person or organization that creates an account and plans or runs an event using the Service.
- Guest — a person who interacts with an event (for example, to respond to an invitation, contribute to a gift pool, or check in), typically via a link and without an account.
- CakeBot — our AI assistant that helps generate and run event plans.
- Content — information you provide or generate through the Service, including event details, guest lists, messages, and files.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
4. The Service and Your License to Use It
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your own event planning. We may change, add, or remove features, and we may set reasonable limits on use.
5. Hosts and Guests
Hosts control their events and are responsible for how they use the Service, including any messages sent and any collections they run. Guests can respond to invitations, contribute to gift pools, and check in without creating an account. These Terms apply to guests to the extent they use the Service.
6. CakeBot and AI Features
CakeBot uses artificial intelligence to generate plans, tasks, drafts, and suggestions, and to help run your event. It is an assistive tool, not a substitute for your own judgment or professional advice.
- You stay in control. Actions that reach your guests or move money — sending messages or invites, contacting vendors, or making a payment — happen only with your approval.
- AI can be wrong. AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete. Review it before relying on it or sending it. You are responsible for anything you approve or send.
7. Your Content and Guest Data
You keep ownership of your Content. You grant us the rights needed to host, process, and display it in order to provide the Service. You are responsible for the Content you add, including your guest list. You confirm that you have the necessary rights and, where required, consent to add each guest's details and to contact them through the Service (for example, by WhatsApp, SMS, or email), and that you will comply with applicable messaging, marketing, and privacy laws.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or deceptive purposes;
- Send spam, or message people who have not agreed to be contacted;
- Attempt unauthorized access to systems, APIs, or data, or interfere with the Service's security or availability;
- Upload malware or infringing, abusive, or misleading content;
- Scrape or reuse the Service or its content in violation of applicable law.
We may restrict, suspend, or remove content or access where misuse is detected.
9. Gift Pooling, Payments and Fees
Some events offer optional gift pooling, where guests may voluntarily contribute toward a shared gift.
- Contributions are voluntary — no guest is required to contribute, and guests choose the amount.
- Payments are handled by our third-party payment provider (currently Razorpay, for UPI in India). By contributing, you also agree to that provider's terms. We do not store full card or bank details.
- Contributed funds are collected for the benefit of the relevant event's host and settled to them, less any applicable processing charges, which are shown before you contribute.
- Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
- You are responsible for any taxes that apply to you.
The Service is currently free to use. We may introduce paid plans or premium features in the future; if we do, we will make the terms clear before you are charged, and paid features will be optional.
10. Beta Service
The Service is currently offered in beta. This means it is still evolving: features may change, be added, or be removed; it may contain errors or be unavailable at times; and we may modify or reset data as we improve it. We provide the Service without any guarantee of availability, uninterrupted operation, or that it will meet your requirements. Keep your own copies of anything important.
11. Third-Party Services
We rely on third-party providers to operate the Service — for example, hosting, email, messaging, payment, and AI providers, listed on our Subprocessors page. Their services are governed by their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for them. Any integrations you enable are at your discretion.
12. Intellectual Property
The Service, including our software, branding, logos, text, and design, is owned by or licensed to LEARNING PATHS TECHNOLOGIES LLP. Except for the license in Section 4, no rights are granted to you. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service except as permitted by law.
13. Privacy and Data Protection
How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. Where you use the Service to process other people's personal data (such as your guest list) as part of a business or organization, our Data Processing Addendum applies: you act as the controller and we as your processor for that data.
14. Disclaimers and Warranties
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted, or that AI output will be accurate.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, LEARNING PATHS TECHNOLOGIES LLP will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, and some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LEARNING PATHS TECHNOLOGIES LLP from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your Content, your use of the Service, your messaging of guests, or your breach of these Terms or applicable law.
17. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or others. On termination, and subject to applicable law, you may export your data within a reasonable period, after which we may delete it.
18. Changes to These Terms and the Service
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a revised "Last updated" date, and we will take reasonable steps to notify you of material changes. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
19. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, the courts in Hyderabad, Telangana, India will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have where you live.
